Commemorating Contributions
Our Four Seasons Mural that dominates our entrance foyer describes our school in vivid colours & pictures. It is formally dedicated to Susan Robinson and the late Laura Marcellus, the two teachers who spearheaded this huge project, coordinated the student painters, and made it happen. A bronze plaque will mark this dedication after a ceremony February 28th, 2007. |

Terry Fox Run
Usually our first big event after celebrating our return to school, the Terry Fox Run inspires us all to give our best and to try to make a difference. |

Food Drive
Douglas Road students suppport our local food banks and the people who use them with food drives each year. Pictured to the left is a sleigh full of food mid-way through our 2008 Holiday food drive. |

Halloween
October brings the fun of costumes & trick-or-treating. At school, that means lots of fun Halloween activities: arithmetic and artwork with pumpkins; visits to pumpkin patches; reading and writing spooky stories; learning about creepy critters; and seeing your friends (and teachers!) in costumes. |
Lest We Forget
Two minutes of silence really is a pittance of time* to give to show our respect for the sacrifices so many Canadians have made, and students at Douglas Road take this occasion seriously. They lead our assembly as speakers and musicians, and during a full 120 seconds of silence, you really could hear a pin drop.
*Terry Kelly's music video of the same name made a poignant vignette for our 2006 assembly. |

Walkathon
Kudos to our parents for taking on the huge job of fundraising for our school. Our biggest annual fundraiser is our walkathon, and it is a great way to keep us physically, as well as fiscally, fit. |
